Multi Level Marketing Advice - Is The Fortune Really In the Followup?

By Andrew Gregory Smith

As a Multi Level Marketing business builder you have probably heard your mentor say on plenty of occasions that the fortune is in the followup, but what is really meant by followup? We are also told that statistically it usually takes 5 or more followups for most people to make a buying decision, so must we still contact prospects even when they clearly are not interest in our opportunity?

When thinking about following-up in Multi-level Marketing, some of us will probably have a picture of nervously lifting our phone to call back all of our prospects who said no to our offers in the previous month! This is why for some of us the task of following up in the usual manner is a worrying job!

If your reason for calling your leads back is to try to persuade them to enrol in your business, then it should be apparent why they are not particularly enthusiastic to take your calls! That said, month in and month out we are usually still instructed by our upline mentor to continue with this process until the frustration and rejection becomes too great and we either quit, or seek another approach to build our organisation.

If you have ever found yourself feeling this way in your Multi Level Marketing business then there may be a few of strategies that you could adopt to reduce the stress of the Multi-level Marketing follow-up process.

If if you want to expand your organisation with the old school word-of-mouth marketing approach then the first modification you should consider is to always introduce your prospects to the industry of Network Marketing before you introduce them to your company.

The follow-up process is usually made hard because prospects have unexpressed concerns about the Network Marketing industry, or home businesses in general, so share information about the Network Marketing industry before you ever give them the option to look at your opportunity.

If you asked friends or family members to review information about an industry that you had chosen to become a part of, rather than asking them to partner you, then you could be much more likely to find out all of their concerns and questions and hence, get a good response. If they ask to find out more about your opportunity once they have learned about the Network Marketing industry then follow up is likely to be something you can do much more easily.

As following-up is more about answering questions, you can get a lot of this completed before you even discuss your company. This will mean that your prospects should be closer to being ready to make a well-informed decision once you have shown them your opportunity.

If you are developing your Network Marketing business on the Internet then follow up can be automated by using an email auto-responder series. Each email that is sent out to your subscribers is the next part of the follow-up sequence.

When you are not know to your prospects (i.e. Online prospects), it is often beneficial to use your follow-ups to build strong raport between you and that individual. Therefore, it is so important to share a wealth of free information about the Multi-level Marketing industry before introducing your company and opportunity. The key to a successful Network Marketing follow up system using the Internet is to figure out the balance between the 'free information' you provide to your leads and the 'requests to take action'.
