Blog Your Way To The Bank

By Tina Norbert

The earnings gap between the highest income bloggers on the web and the average is remarkably wide. While some bloggers are capable of earning thousands of dollars as income from their blogs, most find the process of making a reasonable income through the monetization of their blog to be very difficult. The difference between the parties lies in the effort and approach that each commits to the administration and handling of their respective blogs. Bloggers have to understand the best strategies for marketing their blogs if they want to earn a significant amount of money.

One sure-fire formula for success is using advertisements hosted by search engine sites. A popular advertisement service is AdSense, a free Google program. With it, blogs can feature advertisements that are related to their content, but managed by Google. Sites must be up-to-date, unique, and respectable to be Adsense blogs. A savvy blogger will position the ads on the most visible site pages. This will make more people click on them, which earns the blogger more money. Google gets paid by the advertising company and, in turn, Google will pay a portion of the amount to the blogger.

Since the final earning is only a portion of the actual payout, bloggers may be dissatisfied with such ad programs. In this case, they would go straight to the advertisers instead. The advantage is that they pocket 100% of the payment for each ad placement.

Another way to make some decent money is by becoming an affiliate. After signing up as a product affiliate, a blogger writes a post recommending a product, mentions it in a newsletter, or places an ad about it on the site. Each time someone purchases that product through the link on the site, the blogger receives a percentage of the income.

ClickBank and Amazon Associates are examples of well-known affiliate programs. Bloggers can have more than one affiliate program on their pages. A blogger must choose an affiliate program with products that fit the site content and are in high demand.

Another popular affiliate program is ClickBank, which is an affiliate mall where publishers and marketers can offer their affiliate programs to bloggers and other Internet marketers. There are many affiliate opportunities offered through ClickBank to suit nearly any niche.

Instead of selling someone else's products or services, bloggers can choose to market their own products as a way to make money. Blogs can be used to sell clothing, handmade crafts, and original artwork, among a host of other items. The evolution of ebooks as a valid literary option has also encouraged bloggers to offer thousands of these books online. Regardless of what bloggers are selling, it is vital that the offered products be of sufficiently high quality.

When the number of site members increases, the potential to make money over time significantly rises.

Top blog sites open up many additional prospects for financial growth. Successful bloggers are often requested to provide various other services in the real world. Book deals may just be the beginning of such additional services.

Through a careful study of what is successful and what is losing money, a blogger can maximize the potential of the blog. To make the most income from a blog, a blogger needs more than a pretty blog. Savvy marketing decisions and a willingness to learn from the best will help put a pretty penny in the blogger's pocket.
